WRAPPING UP FAIR SEASON 2025
Anyone with a child in 4-H, FFA, or a similar ag program knows all about “fair season.” For Grange Co-op, it’s a season of showing up in support, and we are honored to stand behind the hard work of youth and their families in the communities that we serve. As an active sponsor, participant, or buyer of no less than 13 fairs this year, our Fair Season starts as early as May and runs all the way thru September. And we wouldn’t have it any other way – seeing the success and results of months of hard work by youth across Oregon and California is the best reward.
Grange Co-op is proud to have invested over $140,000 in junior livestock auctions across 11 counties, supporting more than 70 students — many of whom we hope are taking their first steps toward a future in agriculture.
Congratulations to all the students, and a big thank you to the parents, guardians, club leaders, chapter advisors, and everyone else who helped guide these young people on their ag journey!
EXPANDING OUR FFA GRANT PROGRAM
Grange Co-op is excited to announce the expansion of our FFA Grant Program to now include the Superior Region of California FFA, in addition to the Southern Oregon District of Oregon FFA, which we’ve proudly supported for years. This expanded partnership with both Oregon and California FFA aligns with our cooperative’s mission: helping our communities, customers, and employees achieve more—together.
Grant requests are open to all FFA chapters within Oregon’s Southern Oregon District, including Jackson, Josephine, Klamath, and Lake counties. Chapters in nearby satellite regions—such as Curry and Douglas counties—are also encouraged to apply. Applications are accepted and reviewed twice annually.
We now welcome grant applications from FFA chapters in California’s Superior Region. This includes counties such as Siskiyou, Modoc, Trinity, Shasta, Lassen, Tehama, Plumas, Glenn, Butte, Sierra, Colusa, Sutter, Yuba, Nevada, and Placer. Satellite counties like Humboldt and Del Norte are also eligible.
Be sure to follow along for updates from grant recipients and see firsthand how your Round-Up donations at the register are making a difference in our local communities!
SHOWMAN GETTING THEIR START
The annual Jackson County Harvest Fair isn’t the conclusion of fair season — it’s the beginning of a new chapter for many youth livestock projects, with eyes already set on the 2026 fair season. Ranchers and breeders from across the western U.S. bring some of their best calves, while buyers travel from as far north as Washington and as far south as California’s Central Valley, all eager to launch their projects on the right hoof.
The three-day event centers around the highly anticipated auction, but it’s also a valuable opportunity for young exhibitors. Many get their first taste of the show ring through jackpot competitions — a hands-on experience that helps both the youth and their animals become familiar with the preparation, handling, and showmanship skills that shape future champions.
