SOHumane Adoption Day

Love was in the air on Saturday, February 10th as Grange Co-op partnered with SOHumane for another wonderful adoption event. This time, we celebrated being “Pawsitively in Love” as over a dozen dogs found their forever homes with families in the Rogue Valley. These adoption days frequently have a line forming even before the event starts. The energy is high as dogs old and young eagerly get to meet prospective families, and everyone is all wiggles as adopters connect with their new family members. Grange Co-op provided ‘Wag Bags’ to go along with every adopted pet, including generous donations from several vendors, and gift baskets were raffled off with all proceeds going back to SOHumane and their efforts to rescue more animals. Follow them and Grange Co-op on social media to stay up to date on future adoption events and Saving Train efforts!

Oregon Livestock Camp

Grange Co-op attended the Oregon Livestock Camp, presented by Associated Feed, and held at the Jackson County Expo this year. Over 200 students and their families, many looking forward to their first time with a project animal, heard from several experts and saw live demonstrations of animal handling. These youth got an entire day’s worth of hands-on experience from everything ranging to showing swine in the ring, to sheering a sheep for market sales, putting goats on a stanchion, and grooming steer for auction. These experts, several with direct experience in judging, also gave professional input on how students could perform best in the ring, and answered questions about feed, supplies, and more. Grange Co-op is proud to sponsor local Youth in Agriculture, with annual donations of several thousand dollars to local clubs and organizations, in addition to supporting animal projects at auction.

Regional Bull Sales

Tehama County is host to the Red Bluff Bull & Gelding Sale, “Where the best in the West meet and compete.” Grange Co-op has been attending this sale as a vendor and community partner for several years, and it has always been a wonderful time to connect with working ranch families and businesses. The sale has expanded over the decades to include working dog demonstrations, a rodeo, and one of the largest trade shows in the West. Rain or shine, Grange Co-op looks forward to hitching up our trailer and meeting with familiar faces and new folks at this one-of-a-kind event!

Not to be left out, our Klamath Falls team was all smiles and shaking hands at the 64th annual Klamath Falls Bull and Heifer Sale. Hosted by the Klamath Cattlemen’s Association, this event is not only a popular sales opportunity for many basin ranchers, but a social event for the whole family. Additionally, proceeds from the show contribute to scholarships for Klamath Basin youth.
