Guinea pigs, also known as cavies (caviinae), are part of the rodent family. Unlike other rodents, Guinea pigs require 100% Vitamin C supplementation from hay, fortified pellets, fresh fruits and vegetables. Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) is crucial for good health.
