Posted by Grange Co-op on 27th Jan 2020

Grange Co-op’s Rogue Quality Feed has been certified by the Safe Feed/Safe Food Certification Program administered by the American Feed Industry Association. As a Safe Feed/Safe Food-certified facility Grange Co-op demonstrates and ensures continuous improvements in delivering safe, wholesome livestock feed for the growth and care of animals. This is a one-of-a-kind, voluntary program that has resulted in the certification of over 330 feed-related facilities. Certified facilities go above and beyond federal requirements to ensure the highest standards in manufacturing and processing are followed each day.

Rogue Feed has received certification for its Central Point Grain Elevator. As a successful participant in AFIA’s program, Grange Co-op is entitled to use a special Safe Feed/Safe Food logo on products and certain equipment.

Constance Cullman, AFIA president and chief executive officer, said, “Grange Co-op should be commended for showing leadership in this important program. The employees have gone the extra mile to demonstrate a strong commitment to food safety and offer reasons to their customers and consumers for increased confidence in the products they provide. The companies participating in Safe Feed/Safe Food are making outstanding efforts.”

AFIA’s Safe Feed/Safe Certification Program is open to livestock feed and pet food manufacturers, ingredient suppliers, integrated producers, feed purchasers, renderers and others who want to validate a commitment to food safety through pro-active leadership. It signifies that qualifying companies have embraced the feed industry’s role in creating feed-based safety programs; they are doing their part to reduce food safety risks; they are participating in an approved risk-management program; and they are aggressively practicing risk reduction.

Grange Co-op has been making Rogue Quality Feed for over 60 years. “We recognize the importance of ensuring your animals safety,” states Brian Wilkerson Director of Ag Operations. “We wanted to show our customers we were willing to go the extra mile to be certified by one the nation’s leading independent certified organizations ensuring a comprehensive standard of excellence. We are continuing to provide the same quality feed that our customers have come to love, now with the comfort of the AFIA certification.”

AFIA is based in Arlington, VA., and is the world’s largest organization devoted exclusively to representing the business, legislative and regulatory interests of the U.S. animal feed industry and its suppliers.
