Fertilome Tree & Shrub Insect Drench offers a simple, once‑a‑year solution for protecting ornamental and fruiting trees and shrubs from destructive insects. Its systemic formula moves downward into the soil and upward through trunk and foliage, safeguarding new and mature growth for a full season. Ideal for preventative care as well as active infestations, this drench is highly effective against borers, beetles, leaf‑feeding pests, and sap‑sucking insects, ensuring long‑lasting plant health with minimal labor.
Target Pests
Controls adelgids, leaf beetles, vine weevil larvae, leafhoppers, roundheaded borers, flatheaded borers, emerald ash borers, leafminers, mealybugs, pine tip moth larvae, Japanese beetles, psyllids, lace bugs, royal palm bugs, sawfly larvae, scales (armored and soft), thrips, and whiteflies.
Active Ingredient
Contains imidacloprid, a systemic insecticide absorbed by the roots and distributed throughout the plant for extended protection.
How It Works
After mixing with water and applying at the base, the drench moves through soil to the roots, then travels upward through xylem tissue to protect current and future growth.
Application Instructions
Trees: Mix 1 oz per inch of trunk circumference with 1 gallon of water.
Shrubs: Mix 3 oz per foot of shrub height with 1 gallon of water. Pour evenly around the base of the plant.
Where to Use
For outdoor trees and shrubs, including many listed fruit and nut varieties such as apple, pear, loquat, pecan, mayhaw, quince, and crabapple.
Timing
Apply once per year in early spring or early fall for best performance and season‑long coverage.
Growth Protection
Protects existing foliage and newly developing growth for up to 12 months, even under rainfall or watering.
