Grange Co-op to Match Up to $5,000 in Fire Relief for Oregon Cattlemen’s Association Livestock Aid

Klamath Falls, OR: Effective July 23rd Grange Co-op has begun raising funds at point-of-sale for fire relief contributions to the Oregon Cattlemen’s Association Livestock Aid. As part of their GrangeGives campaign, Grange Co-op has also pledged to match up to $5,000 in relief funds raised by customers. All Grange Co-op retail stores within Oregon are now offering the opportunity for customers to round up their transactions and donate funds to provide assistance for the cattlemen devastated by the Bootleg Fire.

Currently the third largest fire in Oregon’s recorded history, the Bootleg Fire is affecting many cattle ranchers and their livestock. Hundreds of cattle are displaced due to the harsh conditions and malnutrition they’re experiencing from the fire’s impact. The devastation from the fire compounds onto the already depleted forage resources due to the extreme drought in Klamath County. Devouring nearly 400,000 acres since the ignite on July 6th, the fire continues to threaten land that is used for many of the community’s cattle operations. “We hope to exceed our donation goal, completing a total contribution of over $10,000,” states Marketing Manager, Jason Wall. “We recognize the importance of distributing funds to the ranchers and their livestock operations as quickly as possible.”

Grange Co-op has experienced an overwhelming support from customers at all retail stores in previous fire relief initiatives. In 2020, Grange Co-op in partnership with customers, helped raise over $50,000 dollars for the Phoenix-Talent Fire Relief, a fire that devastated the community just outside Medford, OR. “In our community’s greatest time of need, we want to extend thanks and gratefulness to everyone who supports this initiative with generosity and goodwill,” stated Neil Itzen, CEO of Grange Co-op.

Grange Co-op extends its deepest sympathies to those who have been devastated by this tragic wildfire. For more information about how Grange Co-op is helping support communities during wildfires please visit Grange Co-op Fire Relief Aid.
